god's legacy in our midst

Serving christ and the community since 1953

Belvidere Heights Baptist was started as a mission of First Baptist Church in Belton in a new suburb of Grandview in 1953. On September 21, 1958. Belvidere Heights Baptist Mission became Belvidere Heights Baptist Church. A constitution was adopted, officers were elected and Rainford Davis was called to be the pastor. It was organized with 63 charter members.  In October 1958, Belvidere Heights Baptist Church made a request to the Blue River Baptist Association for full membership and affiliation.  This would also mean that the church would be a member of the Missouri Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.

The church has had many pastors through the years who led the church to minister to the community and touch the city, state, country, and world with the Gospel. Today BHBC partners with the school and community and leads people to "follow Jesus, and make disciples of all nations."

what we believe directs everything we do

Belvidere Heights Baptist is an independant local church. This means that our organization, leadership and guidelines for all that we do are decided upon by the members of this local church. However, the majority opinion is not what drives our faith and practice. Scripture does. The Bible (The Old and New Testaments) are our sole rule for faith and practice.

You can find a full statement of faith that we have adopted here.

We partner for greater impact

when local churches work together good things happen

Belvidere Heights Baptist Church voluntarily cooperates with the SBC. You can read more about Southern Baptists here. This allows our local church to make a national and global Kingdom impact through pooling our resources with that of other likeminded, local congregations.

We also work together with the Missouri Baptist Convention.

And we partner with local churches in our immediate area through the Blue River- Kansas City Baptist Association.
