BASIC STUFF:

I have always had music in my life thanks to my mother, who played piano in every church we’ve ever been in, and to my dad, who taught me the first couple of chords on the guitar. As a teenager, I became involved in leading praise choruses at our church home in Arkansas. The LORD impressed on me a need to be in ministry before I shipped off to college in the rice and soybean fields of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. After completing my undergrad degree, God urged me to further my education by focusing on the original languages of His Word. So, here I am, in Kansas City, working on my master’s degree with hopes of graduating eventually.

My duties involve planning and leading corporate worship at Belvidere Heights with members of my new church family.

BIRTHDAY: November 29, 1985

EDUCATION:

B.A. in Biblical Studies from Williams Baptist College.

M.A. in Biblical Languages from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (in progress).

INTERESTS AND FAVORITES:

  • Places – My parents’ house in Arkansas with my family, coffee shops, Guitar Center, and my bed.
  • Books/Audio – The Bible (preferably ESV or NASB), Stuff Christians Like by Jonathan Acuff, and The Mark of a Man by Elisabeth Elliot.
  • TV/Movies – Seinfeld, Arrested Development, any movie by Christopher Nolan, and Dead Poet Society.
  • Music – Derek Webb, Caedmon’s Call, Emery, The Avett Brothers, Bon Iver, and Arcade Fire.
  • Sports Team – Though I’m not really into sports, I do enjoy playing golf. Since moving away from Arkansas, I have become a Razorbacks fan.
  • Hobbies – Listening to and playing music, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
  • Enjoy most about ministry – My favorite part of ministry is building relationships with others within the church as part of growing the community of faith.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:16-17
